EU Days of debate with high school students in Halifax

Let’s debate the EU!!! This event involves Halifax high school students and students from the Dalhousie Debating Society. Examples of debate questions include: Should the UK to re-join the EU? Should Turkey join the EU?
During the days of the debate, after an introductory session in which the JM Chair presents the key pillars of the EU, students are divided into teams competing against each other on their assigned topics. Members of the Debating Society then decide who wins the final prize!
Model European Union

Students attend a simulation of the Council of the European and learn about how the EU works. In the event held in May 2013 in Ottawa Dalhousie students joined colleagues from across Canada to discuss EU arctic policy. The EU ambassador to Canada was present to welcome the students!
